Ernest W. Lloyd, 79, of Lorain passed away on Thursday morning, February 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Lloyd was born in Johnstown, PA on August 21, 1944, the son of the late James Francis and Helen Sarah (nee Fisher) Lloyd. He was a 1962 graduate of Lorain High School. He served as a Specialist in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war.
He was a lifetime member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Lorain.
Mr. Lloyd was a retired Welder at PC Campana in Lorain, retiring in 2011. He also had worked at Thew Shovel and Terex.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Bear, a member of the Stylers Car Club, Cleveland Sports Fan and camping.
Ernie is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Glenn) Johnson of Lorain, Kelly (Mark) Stanley of Lorain, son Bret (Janet) Strohsack of Dayton, TN, grandchildren ~ Katie, Kyle (Michaela), Alyssa, Sarah (Matthew), Ty, great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Willow and a sister-in-law Donna Lloyd.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jane ( nee Beal) Lloyd in 2020, brothers James and Ed.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with burial following in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, with full military honors. The Reverend Adam Davis, senior pastor of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church will officiate.
